About Me

Hello, and thank you for visiting! My name is Anna Sheinman, and I am a yoga and pilates instructor, as well as a SOFLY™ wellness coach. I am so glad you are here, and I am looking forward to getting to know you. Until then, here is a little bit about me.

A Brief History of Me

I was born and raised in the former USSR in sunny Tashkent, Uzbekistan, but I have traveled and lived all over. I came to New York for my 19th birthday, fell in love with the city of lights, and never looked back. However, my typical “New York” routine included a host of unhealthy and body-stressing practices: hard work with little to no physical activity, poor eating habits, and cigarette smoking.

One day, inspired by a sudden urge to improve my lifestyle, I embarked upon a new regime. With determination I quit smoking, replacing that nicotine fix with exercise: running and working out in the gym. Unfortunately, my long stint of physical idleness took its toll and thwarted my efforts. In my attempts to improve my health, I ruined my knees, and the discs in my back gave out. As a last resort, my physical therapist suggested trying yoga.

Yoga Changed My Life

In 2000, I signed up for an open class in a small studio in the city. The yoga studio and method was called Jivamukti, meaning liberation while living. From there, my journey began.

My fitness took root and flourished, resulting in a serene mind and a much healthier body. After several years of practicing in different studios, I embarked on a journey to become a yoga and wellness educator. Yoga led me to move to my dream home in the mountains of Colorado, where I love and live with my lovely husband and my pup Rocky. When I am not teaching or writing, I hike, snowshoe, and cook delicious plant-based meals.

My journey and transformation inspired me to create the SOFLY™ method to help others reach the depths of their wellness exploring yoga, pilates, and the outdoors, creating healthier and happier lives.

Mission

Your well-being is of the utmost importance to me. I love teaching the SOFLY™ method, mixing Eastern and Western wisdom to make it fun, cool, and accessible. Whether you are working with me online, venturing on an outdoor therapy retreat, or practicing in a group or private classes, it is my mission to help you be your best possible self and live your life to your fullest potential.

About Anna’s SOFLY™ Approach

I teach my students with instructions that are focused on protecting and honoring the body, mind, and spirit. My classes incorporate movement, breathing, and meditation. When I work with you personally, I will teach you how to honor your body with your diet, and how to rejuvenate your soul with hydrotherapy, outdoor therapy, and journaling. This multi-faceted approach allows students to experience many different aspects of yoga and meditation, lose weight, and maintain a healthy body and mind. The end-goal of our time together is for you to leave with a new zest for life, feeling energized, centered, and rejuvenated.

Education & Qualifications

I am a registered yoga instructor (over 800 RYT) and a certified Pilates teacher. I continue to study with my teacher Chase Bossart in the tradition of T. Krishnamacharya. I have been very fortunate to study with Mr. Desickchar, Gary Kraftsow, and AG Mohan, and Ellie Herman.
