Foam Roller

Foam Roller $20 – I purchased my first foam roller about 20 years ago. To this day, this is my greatest $20 investment. Within just a few minutes of rolling, this tool will make your muscles more receptive to stretching and strengthening, all the while relieving soreness. I use it as a meditation tool to melt my sorry muscles and worries away.  I also have a travel version that I take on the road. Roll-on!

TriggerPoint Foundation Starter Kit for Deep Tissue Self-Massage

TriggerPoint Foundation Starter Kit for Deep Tissue Self-Massage $129.99 – I purchased this toolkit in 2016 with a recommendation from my physical therapist. This gem includes six deep tissue massage tools so you can roll out large muscles like the quadriceps, hamstrings, and adductors. The two small massage balls provide targeted compression to break up painful knots in your neck and calve muscles. This magical toolbox helps me to roll out my body in its entirety.

Dumbells

Dumbells  $20 to $300 – Using free weights is the most efficient way to build muscles and develop functional strength. I purchased five-pound dumbells and gradually worked my way up to 20 pounds. Find a good pair you like, keep it simple and keep adding on.

Super Soft Mat

Super Soft Mat  $89.99 – This mat will set you up for life. I have about 10 mats around the house, but this one is my sacred treasure to pad and nurture my bony knees and elbows. It is an investment, and it takes a bit of space, but it’s great for yoga, weight-lifting, pilates, and jumping!

Trampoline
Trampoline $209.99 to $307.82 – After reading one of Lauren Roxburgh’s books, I was inspired to buy a trampoline and I have used it every day since. My husband was able to put it together himself. Jumping on a trampoline exercises the whole body, helps build muscle and burns fat. You can have fun while improving your agility and balance. Put on some tunes and jump!

SOFLY Living

Ultra-concentrated Epsom Salts

Ultra-concentrated Epsom Salts  $29.95 – Usually, I buy two or three since I take hot baths daily. I heard about this product on the Tim Ferriss show. You can find Epsom salt for lesser prices, but this one is my go-to. I add 2 to 4 cups to my bath, and it helps with stress reduction, and muscle relaxation and recovery.

Water thermometer

Water thermometer  Under $10 – If you like to make sure you don’t overheat in a hot bath, I  recommend using this gadget to measure your water temperature.

Timer

Timer $19.95 – This gadget will get you all set for the HIT workouts, stretches, and contrast water therapy.

SOFLY Nourish

Mushrooms Supplements

Mushrooms Supplements from $30 – I take these immune supplements in addition to lion’s mane powder. Sometimes, I’ll add in some Cordyceps. Basically, I stand by any supplements by Paul Staments.

The Tao of Tea Hibiscus Ginger

The Tao of Tea Hibiscus Ginger $26.56 – I usually make a huge mug of this 100% organic goodness each morning. Then, I add 1 cup of frozen fruit to make the most delightful and nourishing drink.

Take Charge in the Kitchen

High-Speed Vitamix A2300 Blender

High-Speed Vitamix A2300 Blender $599.95 – This gadget is another game-changer for a healthy kitchen that will last you a solid 10 years. This blender has two extra attachments for smaller serving sizes. I use it to make dressings, hummus, desserts, and soups, and it works perfectly EVERY time. It cuts my cooking time drastically, from silky smoothies to frozen sorbet. Super easy to clean and zero learning curve or maintenance.

Scanpan Classic Covered Saute Pan

Scanpan Classic Covered Saute Pan  $152.52 – This 9.5-inch non-stick frying pan is my favorite tool for sautéing and cooking and re-heating. A multi-purpose pan is essential for a well-stocked kitchen.

Air Fryer

Air-fryer  $119.99 – Investing in an air-fryer can quickly elevate your cooking repertoire. It’s perfect for making oyster mushrooms (6 minutes), french fries (10 minutes), baked potatoes (40 minutes), and my favorite, tofu (12 minutes).  Like Vitamix, this gadget is very intuitive; after spending about five minutes reading a manual, you can be an expert.

Instant pot

Instant pot  $119.99 – This gadget can cut your cooking time by more than half! I am on the 5th generation of the instant pot. I cook quinoa (2 minutes), rice, soups, potatoes, and beans – all in half the time required on a regular stovetop. Like my other cool tools, the learning curve is super smooth. Cleaning and maintaining is easy; just do it right after you use it.

Tofu Press

Tofu Press  $120.00 – If you love cooking tofu, a tofu press is an essential investment. I purchased a press last year after months of pressing tofu with rocks. I absolutely love making air-fried tofu, and it comes out much better pressed. I also use a press when cooking lions mane mushroom. This gorgeous product does a great job of getting all the liquid out of tofu. Super easy to use and clean.

Breville Barista Espresso Machine

Breville Barista Espresso Machine  $699 – There is something perfect and magical about a consistent cup of espresso. With this machine, you can achieve true coffee perfection. It grinds the beans and makes a perfect shot each time, not to mention perfect foamy cappuccinos!  I’ve been using this machine for a few years. The maintenance is easy; just install clean filters and descale the machine every few months. I’ve been using a medium or strong blend of Kion coffee over the last few years, and I haven’t experienced any side effects or jolts. I take my coffee dark, early, and to the point.

The powers of a man’s mind are directly proportional to the quantity of coffee he drinks.

Set Your Soul Free!

In the Tribe of MentorsTim Ferris asked Rabbi Sacks which purchase of a hundred dollars or less had most positively impacted his life in the last six months. His answer was interesting:

“Without a shadow of a doubt, buying noise-canceling earphones.”

And the interesting line is:

"These are the most religious objects I’ve ever come across because I define faith as the ability to hear the music beneath the noise.”

So, make an effort to hear music beneath the noise.

UE BOOM 2 Wireless Bluetooth Speaker

UE BOOM 2 Wireless Bluetooth Speaker $144.50 – If you don’t have one already, you should get yourself a speaker. I’ve been using my trustee BOOM for years. This one is waterproof, and I love how it intensifies the music. It has a great battery life, so I always bring it on vacation and I use it every day!

Apple Air Pods

Apple Air Pods  $189.99 – My husband gifted me a pair of Air Pods and I have never parted with them since. This investment will transcend the way you communicate, and consume books, podcasts, and music. I feel like most Apple products are borderline magical!

For the Home

I absolutely hate cleaning! Yet, I love clean flowing energy in my home, and there is nothing like the smell of a clean house. Typically, I clean my house daily for about an hour. I do this so when I wake up the next day, I know exactly where my keys are and there are no dirty dishes. A few times a week, I use the I-robot vacuum ($650), Handheld Dyson ($700), and a Steamer ($150).

Books

Many of you have asked me to recommend my top ten books for starting your soul journey, and this was one of my hardest tasks. My whole house is full of books, and I have an extensive online library of audiobooks. I absolutely LOVE to read. Here are my top ten books to read when you are ready to change your life. Hiking Poles

Hiking Poles  $139.95 – My first pair cost me about $15. They were okay, but I think it is worth investing in good hiking poles. I’ve been using Leki poles from REI and I am in love!

Gregory Backpack

Gregory Backpack  $119.99 – This backpack holds everything you need for any adventure, while being ergonomic and comfortable!

Sawyer Water Filter – Investing in a water filter was the best thing that ever happened to me. I drink a ton on the trail, and this filter is very light and easy to use. Always check your filter before you head out.  Make sure to clean it and store it at temperates above freezing.  Running out of water is one of the worst things that can happen on the trail, so I recommend having a few water filtration back-ups as well.

Spikes

Spikes – Living in a cold climate, I take these on most of my hikes. I hate slipping and sliding, so a pair of spikes can always make a hike more fun.

GPS

GPS  $444.17 –  Click here for the REI guide on how to choose a GPS. I got this little guy after a body was found in one of my favorite hikes. They suspected that a hiker got lost… so, I NEVER go out without my mini. I mostly hike solo so if something happened to me, simply put, I would be screwed. This satellite device is super easy to use, but it does come with some subscription fees.

AllTrails App – This app is so easy to use, and has more than 50,000 trails across North America! I always decide on a trail the day before my hike to read reviews, get the mileage, etc. When I arrive at my hike, I select the trail on the app, hit the record button, and tell me how far I am from the top or off-trail.

First Aid Kit – A true hiking essential. I never head out without it.

Shades – Sunglasses are an underrated hiking necessity. The blinding sun can be dangerous for your eyes, and detract from the beautiful scenery! I think a quality pair of sunglasses is a worthwhile investment.

Smartwool Hike Medium Crew Socks  $17.94 to $19.95 – I have about 10 pairs of these socks and they always keep my feet warm and dry. Wash with cold water, and always air dry.
